Tummy tuck (Abdominoplasty)
          
The abdominoplasty is the procedure that removes the excess skin and fat located in the abdomen and tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. This procedure can reduce the volume and flaccidity of the abdomen.
 
The best candidates for abdominoplasty are men and women who are in relatively good shape but are concerned about their fatty deposits or by the flaccidity of his abdominal skin that does not respond to diet and exercise. Patients who need to lose much weight should postpone the surgery until they have no more than 15% of  weight excess .
 

 

 

      

SURGICAL PLANNING

GETTING READY FOR SURGERY

Dr. Tagliapietra give him specific instructions, including how to prepare for surgery, to eat or drink, the smoke and restrictions on the intake of certain vitamins and medicines. Follow these instructions carefully help to better postoperative.


TYPES OF ANESTHESIA

Will be selected preferably general anesthesia to make this statement, although in small cases the local anesthesia with sedation may be indicated.

  
THE SURGERY

The technique consists of removing excess skin and fat in the abdomen by a horizontal incision just above the pubic area. Its length will relate to the existing excess tissue. The flaccidity of the abdominal muscles will be treated at the same time.

The procedure is performed under  general anesthesia provided and administered by an anesthesiologist with intraoperative cardiac monitoring.

 

    

 

AFTER SURGERY
 

Normally save bed rest during the first 48 to 72 hours postoperatively. This is essential to ensure the best and most rapid development. A strip compressive must compress the area for a month or so, completely withdrawing the dots between ten and fifteen days.
